What it is
How much can a single C file put on a screen, with no engine and no asset files? These three demos are my answers to that question. They are experiments, not products, and that is the point.
The three demos
AURORA is the big one: about a thousand lines of C with embedded GLSL, rendered through SDL2 and OpenGL 3.3. An auto-director moves between four raymarched scenes (a Mandelbulb fractal, an alien ocean, a nebula tunnel and a black hole with gravitational lensing), finishes each frame with tone mapping, colour grading and film grain, and plays a dark ambient soundtrack synthesised live, with the beat pulsing the visuals.
NEBULA and C SIGHT stay in the terminal and paint it in 24-bit colour. NEBULA packs two pixels into each character with the half-block ▀ and cycles through plasma, a tunnel, metaballs, a warp starfield, a spinning donut and fireworks. C SIGHT goes further with nine scenes, from a Mandelbrot zoom and a Menger sponge to a fractal flame and light splitting through a glass prism.
Where it stands
All three build and run on Linux. AURORA also has a headless mode for screenshots and benchmarks, and C SIGHT can render its whole show offline, which is where the C SIGHT frames in the gallery come from.
